Made from corrugated iron, waxed cord and mercerised thread.

This beautiful blue iron was rescued from Wānaka, Te Waipounamu the South Island, and it was always going to be made into something that spoke of the sea or the lake, but once Gilly had lived with if for a while she realised that she wanted it to also speak to the protection of whānau and family, with the Matriarch at the top standing over her mokopuna and tamariki with the river of ancestors at the bottom.
