Based in rural Upper Moutere, Fleur is a contemporary embroidery artist who has been practicing full-time since 2016. Her deeply intricate works have been celebrated in Australia and New York, as well as Aotearoa—you’ll be just as excited as we are to see Fleur’s stunning pieces in the gallery.
Texture, colour, and contemporary mark-making casts Fleur as a truly unique artist, creating what she describes as ‘stitched paintings’. Blooming florals are one of Fleur’s main motifs, and her consideration of texture through hand embroidery, paint, textile collage, and found elements makes her pieces erupt joyously from the canvas. These are authentic, time-honoured heirlooms in high demand and are a must-have for any collection!
