Alan McLintic was a man of many talents. Among his accomplishments as an anaesthetist, teacher, mentor, sportsman, and musician, he had been painting professionally for 15 years. Sadly, Alan passed away in 2020. We are so lucky to have been given the privilege of meeting him and showcasing his beautiful paintings.
His school art teacher, alongside his dad, instilled a sense in Alan that art is more than just fun. So, after studying medicine, he picked up a paintbrush resolutely—and how thankful we are that he did! His vast painting experience is highly evident in his carefree, summer-loving artworks. Alan’s early morning kayak rides in the Auckland harbour formed the basis of his works, and they have captured the soul of a Kiwi seaside scene. His smooth and exacting style was a labour of love, and the results are (clearly) worth it.
Alan still gives to the community—his portion of each piece sold is donated to the New Zealand Heart Foundation. Prints of Alan’s sunny artworks are available on request—just get in touch and you can take home a print of your choice a week from ordering.
