Alexandra Tylee

Alexandra Tylee Artist Exhibiting at Turua Gallery

Meet Alexandra Tylee, a talented painter who is inspired by moments that remind her to appreciate the peaceful, impermanent present. Based in her cozy Poukawa studio and garden, she creates gorgeously vibrant still life pieces that we absolutely adore!

While art was her first love, Alexandra has oodles of talent for the world of business. She established Fuel Espresso in Wellington, and Pipi Café in Greytown, Sydney, and Havelock North. Not only that – Alexandra is the proud author of three cookbooks along with a children’s storybook. However, as fulfilling as these projects were, they left little room for painting.

Art has always been a huge part of Alexandra’s life. Growing up on a Hawkes Bay farm, she’d find her own little hideaway to draw and paint for hours on end. Though life took her down various paths, after the sale of Pipi Café in late 2023, it is no surprise to see Alexandra returning to her roots and honing her wonderful artistry.

Today, she creates enchanting acrylic works that celebrate her passion for nature, colour and form. With three successful shows under her belt with Muse Gallery in Havelock North, we’re excited and honoured to share her latest creations here at Turua Gallery.
