Turua Gallery is all about demystifying the notion of contemporary art. We offer a relaxed space that welcomes you to freely appreciate the creative works of fellow New Zealanders. You’ll encounter the works of both established and emerging artists through the solo and group exhibitions we host, alongside many opportunities to start collecting the special pieces that speak to you.
Beyond the canvas, Turua Gallery holds a wide range of limited-edition prints, sculptures, and ceramics - a broad selection of truly exceptional talent. We are so proud to support some of the amazing artists our country has to offer. Come in and discover uniquely captured experiences of Aotearoa in our beautifully curated collection of contemporary New Zealand art.

“Elements” is a joint exhibition that shows the work of Claudia Aalderink, Gilly Sheffield and Kylie Rusk and looks to celebrate the elements that surround us, of our much loved land, including in part, materials rescued & reused to become beautiful artworks, that sit in harmony together.
This exhibition came about from us often pairing the works of these three artists together when hanging the gallery. They complement each other beautifully and we adore the tones and patina of the rescued corrugated iron, charred recycled beehives and luminous style of painting on board in the same spaces.

As part of the opening weekend for the "Elements" exhibition, Kylie Rusk & Gilly Sheffield are joining us for an artists chat on Saturday morning, 19 October at 11am.
Kylie and Gilly will be chatting about their work, inspiration and share a few insights into the process. So bring a friend or two, grab a coffee from Semplice Cafe next door to the gallery and join us. This (like all our events) is a more the merrier occasion and we'd love to see you there.

We are excited to share we have launched Twilight Viewings.
Twilight Viewings are the perfect opportunity for you to join us in the gallery after 5pm & view an exhibition or collection of works we have showing, along with access to our stock room.These viewings will be perfect for you, if you're an art group who is looking to purchase your next piece, an Interior Designer wanting to work with your client to find perfect pieces, or maybe you’d like to purchase someone special a voucher & book a Twilight Viewing for them to select their gift.
With only one viewing available per evening, you will be the only viewers in the gallery & greeted with a glass of bubbles on arrival. If you are wanting to make an evening of it, we have partnered with Semplice Italian Restaurant, who are next door to our gallery. You will be able to book a meal with them after the viewing (Wed - Sat) & will be treated to a complimentary glass of Italian Prosecco on arrival to the restaurant.
