Bec Robertson

Bec Robertson Artist

One of the original artists showing with Turua Gallery, self-taught artist Bec Robertson has always had a passion for creating. Bec has had the pleasure of living in many different places in the world: from Hawkes Bay and Wairarapa, to London, Singapore and even the rain forest of Cairns!

It was while in Cairns, with no electricity and surrounded with Australian wildlife, that provided the perfect creative space for Bec to hone her drawing and painting skills through observation. Now, Bec lives in Orakei with her husband, two children, and their gorgeous schnauzer Ziggy.

Bec’s most recent works are intricately beautiful depictions of native New Zealand birds and flora. She explores ink, watercolour and paint in her mixed media pieces. These mediums are immortalised through a glorious seal of resin, allowing a vibrant contrast with the fine line ink, wooden base texture, and paint colour palette. We think this technique creates simply stunning results.

There is a beautiful selection of Bec’s original work at the gallery, and her expertise is also available for personal commissions.
