'Where I've Been' - collected memories from my travels near and far. I use photographs as a loose reference and paint intuitively. What emerges are scenes from a local river walk or a drive through the central South Island; the rich and faded colours of Barcelona and the long light of Southern Italy. Other pieces are 'dreamscapes'; created as imaginary studies that celebrate light and colour. My aim is to bring joyful, harmonious colour combinations together with freely-formed brushstrokes to tell a story of where I've been and how it influences what I paint.
