“On My Doorstep” celebrates the notion that even at times of uncertainty, there is still beauty among the chaos right in front of us. Even though the world feels like it has tipped upside down, wild flowers still spring amongst the weeds, rhododendron trees still bloom at the end of the road, and vibrant hydrangeas colour the roadside.
Rachael is fascinated by the use of light, layers, texture, and how this can be used to portray depth. This gives Rachael's paintings the feeling and quality of being able to 'step right in’.
